Treatment of Osteoporosis, Osteomalacia (Rickets), Vitamin D deficiency, Hypoparathyroidism, and Latent tetany.

In cases of hypoparathyroidism, where low levels of parathyroid hormone lead to calcium imbalance, D3 40000 IU Capsule helps restore calcium levels.
The active form of Vitamin D3, known as Calcitriol, functions by binding to Vitamin D receptors (VDRs), which are present in various body tissues. Vitamin D3, being fat-soluble, has a half-life of approximately 50 days. After being absorbed in the small intestine, it binds to specific alpha-globulins and is transported to the liver, where it is metabolized into 25-hydroxy Vitamin D3 (Calcidiol). This is further hydroxylated in the kidneys to 1,25-dihydroxy Vitamin D3 (Calcitriol), the form that enhances calcium absorption. Unmetabolized Vitamin D3 is stored in fat and muscle tissues and is eventually eliminated through feces and urine.
Adults:
Treatment of Vitamin D3 Deficiency: 40,000 IU once weekly for 7 weeks. Maintenance dose: 1,400-2,000 IU daily. Check 25-hydroxyvitamin D levels 3-4 months after starting maintenance therapy.
Prevention of Vitamin D3 Deficiency: 20,000 IU every 4 weeks, with higher doses possibly needed in certain cases.
Osteoporosis Therapy (with other treatments): 20,000 IU once a month.
